Magic Box Desk from Ateliers Genestar in Paris - 1960s

Mid-century, 1950s "Magic Box". Made by the French manufacturer "Ateliers Genestar". This piece is actually an updated version of the "Wooton" desk, which was introduced by the Wooton Desk Company of Indianapolis in 1874. Some time later, Swiss architects and designers Mummenthaler and Meier designed a modernized version in 1928. This rare French version is upholstered in bottle green faux leather.
Lamp installed - tested and working. The interior is made of maple and teak wood, and the exterior is covered in dark green faux leather.
