Arnošt Budík, born in 1936 in Brno, studied art history at the universities of Brno and Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium. Co-founder of the Lacoste group and its magazine Styx, he was a member of the Czechoslovak Surrealist movement.
Arnošt Budík, an important younger-generation Czech surrealist who was a co-founder of the Lacoste Group in Brno. Born in 1936, Budík was active as a writer and collage artist, as well as a tireless organizer of exhibits in his native Czechoslovakia, before relocating to Belgium in 1969.
