Brutalist Cast Aluminum Door Panel in the style of Paul Evans, 1960s

Large cast aluminum door panel from the 1960s. Its brutalist design is clearly influenced by the metal sculptures associated with Paul Evans. The contrast between the rigid linear elements and the fluid central forms creates a unique visual dynamic. The entire surface has a rough, textured patina that lends great strength and power to the piece and its surroundings.A prominent textured handle is integrated into the left side of the composition. This handle is removable using two screws, making it highly versatile. Originally designed as a functional door panel for mounting on glass, wood, or metal doors, its strong abstract and sculptural presence also allows for a new use. Without the handle, the panel can serve as a piece of wall art.
