The Ingram chair by Charles Rennie Mackintosh is part of the "Cassina i Maestri" collection, which brings together a selection of the most significant pieces of furniture created by the protagonists of the Modern Movement, who have become founding references in design. Exclusive reproduction rights to Mackintosh chairs and furniture were acquired by Cassina, a leading international Italian brand, in 1972. The "Masters" collection, designed in 1900 by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, a Scottish architect, designer and artist born in Glasgow in 1878 and a leading representative of the Glasgow Movement, a precursor to the Modern Movement, was created. He designed the Ingrams for Miss Cranston's Ingram Street Tearooms, a prestigious tea room located on Ingram Street in Glasgow. The version of the four iconic chairs we offer is the Ingram-Low, produced by Cassina in ebonized ash with a black leather upholstered seat.
