The chair embodies visual simplicity, where the curve stands on its own.Morrison recounts that after spotting a chair missing its seat in an antique shop, he was inspired to create a chair based purely on structural elements. The chair appears elongated thanks to two curves at the rear that sweep up to meet the curved armrests, creating a striking graphic look. The seat derives its flexibility from flat metal strips, arched like those found on certain garden chairs, while the backrest consists of two wide, curved bands. Small circular trays at the ends of the armrests provide a spot for a glass and a bottle. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, the Thinking Man’s Chair plays on the simplicity of a curved silhouette—a form of pure visual expression that allows its function to shine through.
