Dominique Degueldre created this manifesto in late 2017 to champion respect and gender equality.
Her works highlight women who are independent, influential, powerful, and feminine.
With a clear nod to René Magritte, the *Je ne suis pas une potiche* ("I am not a trophy wife/ornament") series was born of a desire to see a society where respect for women and their right to simply be women is the norm.
The artist chose Limoges porcelain (a protected designation of origin) as the medium for these evocatively titled creations. Today, her work is garnering attention in Brussels, Paris, New York, and Japan.
