Pieter (or Piet) Florizoone was the son of Albéric Florizoone, president of SA Mekanieke Steenbakkerij Nieuwpoort en omgeving and who was also Mayor of Oostduinkerke. He studied at the Sint-Lucas Institute in Ghent and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tournai.
