    Bowl made using the cloisonné or cellular enamel technique on a copper vessel. The decoration features the popular motif of dragons chasing a pearl.
    China, Republic period, 1920s/30s. Signature of the Ming Dynasty Emperor Zhengde (1506-1521) on the base.
    Symbolism: The dragon in Chinese culture is a symbol of strength, protection and cosmic energy, while the sacred pearl symbolizes wisdom and knowledge.
